To recognize excellence in teaching- improving student learning and teaching practice at the University, advancing medical education scholarship and research, and effecting change and improvement at MBRU.

Criteria
To be awarded, an eligible individual must clearly demonstrate excellence in performance and achievements in any of the components of health sciences education [didactic, clinical, and research] when judged against preset criteria, and more generally, their peers.
The following attachment must be submitted with the application along with other application evidence:
- All Criteria are mandatory.
- Attach Endorsement letter from the dean
- Attach Student evaluation report
- Previous Academic Year (Sep1st 2021 – August 31st, 2022)
There are three criteria, each one focusing on a different aspect:
- Criterion 1. Improving student learning and teaching practice
- Criterion 2. Advancing medical education scholarship and research
- Criterion 3. Effecting change and improvement in the educational workplace
Under each of these criteria, there are a series of sub-criteria for response to, as well as providing evidence to support the application.
Criterion 1. Improving student learning and teaching practice (50%)
- Development and/or implementation of effective, innovative curricula and assessment strategies.
- Demonstrated measurable excellence in Education and improving student opportunities and outcomes.
- Demonstrated measurable excellence in academic support, for example, research supervision, personal tutoring, formative assessments and feedback or services supporting learning.
- Demonstrated initiatives to promote empathy and embrace diversity in the educational environment
Criterion 2. Advancing medical education scholarship and research (25%)
- Incorporating own research evidence into education and self-reflective practice
- Utilizing research and data to improve teaching and learning.
- peer-reviewed publications and presentations at local/ International conferences in medical education
Criterion 3. Effecting change and improvement in the educational workplace (25%)
- Actively contributing to the development and/or implementation of evidence-based reviews, policies and standards.
- Achieving Excellence in education through community partnerships and/or faculty development workshops
- Demonstrating innovative practices and use of digital or other advanced technologies in improving the educational environment
