New Book Launched at Library- Meniscus of the Knee
New book titled “Meniscus of the Knee – Function, Pathology and Management” edited by Dr. Taiceer Abdulwahab and Dr. Karl Almqvist and published by IntechOpen was launched at Al Maktoum Medical Library on Sunday 8th September 2019.
Talking about what inspired Dr. Abdulwahab to edit ‘Meniscus of the Knee’, he said “The purpose of this text was to put together the best evidences to see what management options are available to help and preserve the native meniscus, whether it is physiotherapy or biologics, and when things do get worse, what surgical options are available to help save the meniscus”.
Dr. Karl, co-editor of the book also spoke about how the book will be helpful to treat Meniscus and how it can be prevented.
Dr. Taiceer Abdulwahab is currently serving as Orthopeadic Surgeon at Mediclinic City Hospital, Dubai and adjunct faculty at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU). Dr. Karl Almqvist is currently serving as consultant Orthopaedic Surgery at Mediclinic City Hospital Dubai.
The launch and authors talk were followed by a book-signing where the authors interacted with the audience and presented a signed copy of the book to Professor. Mutairo Ezhimokai, Provost, MBRU.
Those at the launch enjoyed refreshments while chatting about books and history.
