MBRU inks partnerships with leading universities in Jordan
Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences inks partnerships with leading universities in Jordan to enhance cooperation in regional medical education field
The Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) today announced partnerships with two leading universities in Jordan to enhance academic cooperation and exchange in the field of medicine and health sciences.
MBRU signed two partnerships with the University of Jordan (UJ) and the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) respectively to develop a framework for collaboration, while its delegation was on a visit to Jordan earlier this month.
The partnerships will focus on the exchange of researchers, faculty and students between MBRU and the two universities in Jordan, to jointly develop the regional medical education sector through academic cooperation.
The agreement between the MBRU and UJ was signed between Dr Amer Ahmad Sharif, Vice-Chancellor of MBRU and CEO, Education Sector, Dubai Healthcare City Authority, and Professor Azmi Mahafzah, President of UJ.
While visiting UJ, the MBRU delegation also toured UJ’s University Hospital and its Cell Therapy Center.
The agreement between MBRU and JUST was signed between Dr Sharif and Dr Omar Al Jarrah, president of JUST. Following the signing ceremony, the MBRU team visited JUST’s Princess Haya Biotechnology Center which supports important experimental research in biotechnology, particularly in the fields of genomics, metabolomics and proteomics.
Over the two-day trip, the delegation also visited a number of medical institutions including, King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center, a renowned comprehensive cancer treatment center in the Middle East and the King Hussein Medical Center.
