MBRU Chancellor Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum Meets Chairman of the Executive Board of E. Merck KG to Discuss Research and Knowledge-sharing Collaboration
Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) welcomed Professor Dr. Frank Stangenberg-Haverkamp, chairman of the executive board of E. Merck KG, one of the world’s oldest and largest companies specializing in life sciences, healthcare and performance materials; to discuss collaborative efforts in research and knowledge exchange.
During the visit, H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chancellor of MBRU & Chairperson of its Board of Trustees met virtually with Professor Dr. Frank Stangenberg-Haverkamp to discuss potential collaborations between MBRU, E. Merck KG and the Merck Foundation centered around life sciences, biotechnology and research. The meeting was joined by H.E. Dr. Raja Al Gurg, vice chairperson, MBRU Board of Trustees and Dr. Abdulkareem Al Olama, CEO of the Al Jalila Foundation.
Professor Dr. Stangenberg-Haverkamp and Dr. Rasha Kelej, CEO of Merck Foundation, were welcomed to MBRU by MBRU’s Vice Chancellor, Dr. Amer Sharif and members of the leadership team.
Professor Dr. Stangenberg-Haverkamp toured the MBRU campus visiting its research and teaching laboratories.
The visit with Professor Dr. Stagenberg-Haverkamp is the latest initiative by MBRU to realize its vision of becoming a global hub for innovative and integrated healthcare education and research at the service of humanity.
Collaborations and relationships with leading life science companies are crucial in helping bridge the gap in the quest to advance healthcare, in alignment with the Emirate’s ambitious vision to advance this vital sector.
