Now there’s a general stereotype that medical school is EXTREMELY stressful and difficult, and sure; a part of it might be true, BUT it all depends on how you manage your time and stress, whether it’s partaking in recreational activities with your friends or catching up on some undone assignments.
So, here are 5 ways to make the most of your free time at MBRU during breaks, and yes! Medical school students do get breaks.
Lounges:
MBRU provides well-equipped lounges fitted perfectly with billiards, foosball tables, table tennis, and more. So, get your friends and see who can get the final 8-ball in.
Study Rooms:
Need to catch up on some work? Need some privacy and quiet? The private and group study rooms on campus are just what you need. The Al Maktoum Medical Library has numerous enclosed sound-proof rooms that provide the perfect study environment. Study with your friends or enjoy some focused time in your own space. Don’t forget to grab some coffee too.
Outdoor Sitting Area:
It might get stuffy sitting inside and processing the plethora of names for EVERY bone in the body. Take a break, grab a book or 10, and head outside to the sitting area. Breathe in the fresh air, soak up some sunlight, and take the opportunity to learn about the fascinating ‘Greater Trochanter’ while you are at it.
Social Hub:
Hungry after Anatomy Lab? Grab something to eat with your friends at the best restaurant on campus. They even got a buffet if you are truly famished. Plus, students get a 5% discount.
Pharaohs’ Club WAFI:
Let’s not forget workouts. It gets hard studying all the time with little to no exercise. A good set of push up makes you feel stronger, and better and helps relieve that study stress. So, grab your gym bag, put on some head buds, and try the FREE university student membership on the way to Wafi Mall and get some GAINS. Check out the gym, sauna, lazy river pool, tennis courts and so much more.
Take time for yourself and find ways to unwind and have fun. Make the most of the opportunities available on campus and create your own well-rounded experience during your breaks.
